Protocol Signing

The DeKalb County Child Advocacy Protocol Signing Ceremony took place in the Gathertorium at the DeKalb County Legislative Center on Tuesday, June 10, 2008. Representatives from the local participating agencies were present to sign the document that provides for a multidisciplinary approach to the investigation, treatment and prosecution of all cases of child sexual abuse as well as cases of serious or fatal injury to a child in order to reduce trauma to children who have already been abused. The original Child Advocacy Protocol was adopted on December 4, 2002 and it is the job of the CAC Advisory Board to review the protocol yearly and revise the Child Advocacy Protocol as changes within the Child Advocacy Act are made or changes in the response to these cases become necessary in order to better meet the need of the children and the multidisciplinary team members.
