Center For Counseling Services
The Center For Counseling offers the following services for these concerns:
Individual, Couple or Marital, Family Counseling
Counselors work with all age groups around a broad range of issues and help the individual, couple or family work toward managing areas of concern. This might include help with coping, learning new ways to manage or relate and working toward healing differences or concerns.
Group Counseling
Groups can offer the opportunity to engage with others who have similar areas of concern or interest toward coping, understanding or personal growth. Groups are offered periodically on a range of topics including coping with divorce for adults or children, communication or shyness.
Divorce Mediation
Helps divorcing couples “uncouple”, develop new ways of relating to each other as parents and cooperate in the shared goals of raising the children. Mediators serve as an impartial third party who can guide couples through the entire decision making process of divorce or help with specific areas where agreement has been difficult. By helping couples mutually agree on the details of the divorce, mediators can help couples begin their new lives on positive terms, both individually and as a redefined family.
Kids First
A court required education program for divorcing parents that encourages ways to peacefully co-parent as the family copes with the many changes a divorce brings. There is an emphasis on understanding and coping with the needs of parents and children during a divorce. Kids First has been offered through Family Service Agency since Administrative Order 95-7 was signed and the program also satisfies Illinois Supreme Court Rule 924 which addresses Parenting Education. This 4 hour program is offered at convenient times each month and a fee is charged for participation. Pre-registration is required and parents are required to attend separate sessions.
Senior Outreach
Several members of the Center For Counseling team have experience in working with the unique concerns of Seniors and their families. Traditional counseling services are supplemented with: services in the home when needed, help coping with general issues of aging such as changing health, long term planning, assessment and referral regarding cognitive changes, and caregiver concerns.

adjust to family changes and understand the role their parents are able to have in their live. This five
week group will begin Monday, Feb. 13 and continue through March 12.

can use to cope with chronic health problems. Topics include practical ways to deal with pain and
fatigue, self-motivation for making better nutrition and exercise choices and ideas for improving overall
